A Week in Review #3

This week has been a bit of a blur.. A lot has happened.. And nothing at the same time if that makes sense.

Soo.. I bought a car! Finally found a vehicle and I bought it! I haven’t actually seen it in person yet though.. Crazy? Not really!
I was online looking for cars – as I do and I found one I liked the look of. It was near where my parents lived so I told my dad about it and he agreed to go and check it out for me.. And the rest is history!
Before being able to take the car away I had to sort out insurance and all the other little extras. I got a quote and I tried to pay for it. I put my details in and waited for the “completed” page to appear. Instead I was told that my card had been declined. I tried again 2 additional times whilst calling the insurance company to check if their systems were down. I called the insurance company I was trying to be insured by and I spoke to the woman on the phone for about 15 minutes before my mobile phone started ringing. I ignored it because it looked like a telemarketing call before answering it as it just kept ringing. It was the Fraud Prevention team from my bank. I thought they were just calling to verify my transaction because it was such a large amount but they were actually calling to tell me that I had been identified as a customer that used their card in an ATM machine that had been tampered with and due to that they had to cancel my card immediately as the scammers had all my card details and my pin should they want to use it. I was so confused and began to ask the woman I was speaking to how she knew what she knew.. At the time what I asked her made sense but I know now that it didn’t! She took her time and patiently explained to me that I had nothing to worry about and cancelling my card was only a preventative measure to make sure my account wasn’t cleaned out.
I called my dad and explained the situation to him – I then transferred funds over to his account so he could pay for everything for me!

My replacement card came in the post yesterday and everything has since been fine! Aside from that, my week was non-eventful!

How was your week? Anything eventful happen?? 🙂 xo

  1. Seriously can you do ANYTHING without something going askew?! I’m very pleased you’ve got a car at long last – any time you fancy a trip up to Cumbria let me know! 😉
