Calico Jack
I am stuffed!
I have just been to an amazing restaurant called Calico Jack.
I can still smell the food on my fingers.. :p
I was on Groupon yesterday and I spotted a deal.. Fajitas and Nacho’s for 2 at a saving of 64%. I looked over the fine print and thought why not and so I bought the deal.
Best spur of the decision I’ve made this week :).
I called the restaurant yesterday afternoon and after three attempts (with my bad reception signal) managed to make a reservation for this evening.
I spent all morning and afternoon anticipating the tasty food that would be in my tummy by bedtime. I was not disappointed.
I had a steak fajita for my main, nachos with guacamole and salsa for my starter with a glass of Blue Keld mineral water (as I am still on my body cleanse thing).
Now I wanted to post a picture of the food I ate, but I was reading an article last week about how many chefs and restaurants find it rude to photograph the food as opposed to just begin eating it. They said that it takes the excitement away for the new diner and also makes the food that was brought to them hot cold as they would have spent about 10 minutes taking photos and uploading them to every social media network that they were on! I understand their point and so on this occasion – out of my new-found respect.. I did not take pictures š
All of the staff that we encountered were lovely and the restaurant very cool in its Pirate themed features.
I would definitely recommend visiting the establishment if you are ever in North Yorkshire š
*I also discovered that they have a promotion called Sticky Finger Wednesdays – where their BBQ menu is up to 50% off!*
I may be going back sooner than I think š

sounds excellent! I disagree with the photo taking thing though. It’s fine you paying respect but I think the chefs are wrong. At the end of the day the customer pays for the food and will eat it when and if they like. I personally can’t cope with piping hot food so I always leave it a little while before eating. So I defend the instagramers here despite the fact I find the whole food-photo-sharing thing hilarious and you’ll never catch me dead making a picture of my food from a restaurant! I watched four people at a table in Delhi airport once all taking photos of their food! It was so funny š
I can’t cope with piping hot food either.. I didn’t take pictures.. although I think I should have.. it was SOOO TASTY and looked amazing!
I usually do.. you know me.. lol.. Next time.. Sticky Finger Wednesday.. I’m photographing that plate!
Ha ha! Well I have to admit, everything you photo looks delicious to me. I’ve still to take you up on some offers of cooking it for me š
*hehe*
