Day 355..#Not So Cheerful..
Today I slept for a long time..
Let me take you through my journey home yesterday.
I got to the bus/train station about 20 minutes before my coach was due to leave and waited for the coach to arrive.
I looked around the station and spotted the driver.. So I knew we were still waiting for our departure.
20 minutes after we were due to have already left, the coach arrived and we set off.
We made one other stop to pick up some passengers.. And were delayed at that station also because one of the passengers couldn’t locate his ticket. When we finally set off, we were 45 minutes behind schedule and headed towards the train station.
We got onto the motorway and after half an hour of driving got stuck into traffic. As we crawled forward approaching the junction we were supposed to exit at, we saw that it was closed and had to take an alternative route.
They’d put signs up that drivers were supposed to follow and we went round the roundabout looking for the exit and ended up going into the town we were in when we were not supposed to.
By this time, the driver realised that she was going the wrong way and turned around. 10 minutes later we were back to where we had started where the junction was closed trying to find the way out.
I spotted the alternative route, went down to the front of the coach and directed the driver. I looked at my phone. 9:17. We were supposed to have reached where we were getting our connection at 9:15, and leaving on the train at 9:33pm and we were still over an hour out from where we needed to be. I knew we’d missed it.
We eventually got to the station where we needed to be, an hour and a half late meaning that the last train was already gone for the night. So we had to wait for another coach to come and pick us up from the station to take us down to London.
We eventually got to London after 2am and I was shattered. I got home around 3am, ate and went to sleep! I was so tired!
After having spoken to the driver, I found that it was her first day driving the coach on her own, and she’d only been trained up the day before, and add the traffic to that, the closed junction and getting us lost.. The end result was missing the train and having a crazy long journey which I guess got me home in the end.. But made me incredibly tired!
I think that’s probably the last time I take that mode of transport.. But then I guess I can’t really complain because you clearly get what you pay for.
In this case, I got my Β£1.50’s worth.
Proof that cheap is not always cheerful π
Hope you’ve all had a good day π
What an awful journey!
I know..but you get what you pay for I guess!
I did not realize you were in London. Cool. π
Yeah..my parents live in London whilst I go to University in the North of England π
