Day 253..#London Sushi..
So I’ve spoken about my love of sushi on my blog before.
For someone who only just tried sushi for the first time last year in Portugal, I adore it.
A few days back, I was speaking to a friend of mine, and the topic turned to sushi and she recommended a great place for me to try.
So this afternoon, armed with a friend, we went on the hunt for this sushi.
It was stunning!
I had the California Spicy Tuna (on the right) with Sushi Gari, and my friend got the California Crabstick on the left.
Then after that I got four more because they were that good.
This sushi place is wonderful, everything is made fresh and is extremely tasty and remarkably well priced.
If you are ever in London, or live in London and haven’t tried this place, you should make a day of it!
The sushi bar is called Yoshino and it’s 59 Shaftesbury Avenue.
You will NOT be disappointed!
i have never tried sushi, as the thought of raw fish doesn’t sound good!!! glad you liked it though!
That’s why I never tried it..I would always say, the concept of raw fish doesn’t sit well with me!
But it’s all things you can eat..it’s not raw fish, the only raw fish is Sashimi, and I’ve never tried that (I don’t think). The standard sushi is seafood..all edible! You should try it..I was surprised I loved it.
i didn’t know it was cooked. thanks for letting me know. i may get brave now, but will never try the Sashimi!!! lol
If you get brave, let us know =)
i sure will!!!!!! we happen to have a new restaurant that just opened in town that is exactly what you have been talking about
Whoooo!
I never tried sushi or shashimi until I met my husband who spent time in Japan while he was in the Navy. He had a hard time getting me to try it. When we married he was stationed in California, and he took me to a sushi place but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Since moving to Indiana he has taken me to 2 different Sushi places. The first was okay, but didn’t make me love it. But last year he took me to a place that had hibachi grill and a sushi bar as well. He got this shashimi with fresh tuna and I fell in love with it. I’ve already told him that for my birthday this year I want to go back again. Their tuna was so good, and their hibachi is great, but it is expensive so I have to pick a special day for him to take me back. I may have to expect nothing else for my birthday, but it will be worth it.
I’m glad you learnt to love it!
I wish more people would give sushi a try without writing it off!
It’s amazing food! I’m not sure if I’ve tried sashimi.. I’m still a sushi novice 🙂
You would love it.
