Day 215..#Painful Gums..
For the past few days, I’ve had pain in my mouth..
My dental hygiene has always been consistent (my fear of the dentist ensures that my teeth and gums are always up to par)..and since I have been back, I could say it’s even gotten better since the implant, but for a reason which is not known to me, my mouth has become incredibly sore over the past two days or so.
Because I’m not used to eating on both sides of my mouth, I have to remind myself to distribute my food evenly as well as take smaller bites to get used to eating on both sides again.
My mouth is in pain. It’s not a pain of a cracked tooth or a tooth that is growing in, but it’s my gums. Namely my gums on the left side of my mouth at the back (which isn’t the side the implant is on). It feels like I’ve cut my gums without knowing and it hurts!
*Based on the image it is the Retromolar trigone that hurts*
Since being back, I have changed both the toothpaste I use, and also the mouthwash I use. This could be the cause of it..possibly..maybe. I’m not sure..all I know is that now my mouth is sensitive and I don’t like it.
It also feels like my teeth have been stripped a layer..so now I feel hot and cold even more than I did before..
After getting my implant, I thought that my dental pain was all over..I guess I’ll have to wait a couple more days and see if it improves..
Any advice on what to do??
Thanks in advance!! =)
when i had my dental work done the area you are talking about is also where mine hurt. the dentist told me when i went back it was from my jaw being opened so long, and that it causes quite a bit of pain until it is all healed again and moving normally. as far as the gums, the nerves from several teeth are effected, and it takes time. dentist told me to use crest sensitive toothpaste, the pink and white tube, and it helped a lot. hope this helps, and in time all will b back to normal useage
Thank you for this information Terry..That is probably the case..my mouth has been through a lot over the last 5 months, now that everything is done, it will need time to heal..although, I don’t remember if it hurt me during the implant period..if it did, I don’t remember..
But I’ll take a look at Crest, I’m currently using a french toothpaste atm, because that’s what is in my house..
Hopefully the pain will subside soon. I’m finding it incredibly annoying!
i did too, but the crest sensitive works wonders!!!!
