Day 109..#Praise from Every Nation!
So this was one of my favourite songs when I was growing up..*as was “Sing Out”..wow*
My mom got the DVD and I fell in love with this particular song..I think it was the dancers that I loved..and today I still find myself smiling that I still know the dance moves (where there are some!)..
It was here I fell in love with the saxophone for the first time and have been playing for the past 13 years..and his version of “Anointing” was the first solo piece I played church when I was 11 years old..
I love Ron Kenoly..and his music was always playing in my household..
Oh and those guitar solo’s! Whoo! Too much! He’s got a *CRAZY* bass player..make that a crazy BAND!
This clip cuts out my favourite part (the dancers coming down the aisles at the beginning of the song)..but it’s still a great song nonetheless!
*Also, the tempo seemed much faster when I was younger..lol*
I hope you enjoy!
Sister how young are you? – when you were growing up 🙂
I worked at a christian radio station back in the day and sister I was crazy about Ron. Good , good memory and awesome praise and worship!
*he he*..I’m 22.. 🙂
We are a very musical family..so music was always playing in our house at all times of the day..If I’m not mistaken..it was between 1995 and 1998..because ’98 was when I got my saxophone..and yes..I was like between 5 and 8 years old..but music is POWERFUL..it has a way to take a hold of me..as young as I was..It was a heavy influence in my life!
I’m actually surfing the web to see if I can surprise my mum with the DVD’s..we have the VHS tapes..but who uses VHS now? lol..I think she needs an upgrade..and for my pleasure also! 🙂
Out of the mouths of babes Pastor! 😛
wonderful!
How cool that you play the sax! Great song…
😛
After watching Ron Kenoly and his band, I became obsessed with it..and one day in 1998, my dad came home with one for me..it was one of the most awesome days ever! I’m probably biased..but it’s one of my favourite instruments.. 😛
I think it’s an amazing instrument! Very impressed that you know how to play!
Hey you and I have been playing the Sax pretty much exactly the SAME length of time! The only difference is that I started WAY older than you! 🙂
I think you’re never too old to learn something new 🙂 that’s awesome!
Do you play alto or soprano?
Alto – though when the school I used to work at in the UK did concerts I was often asked to play tenor – which I LOVE! Such a deep sexy sound! Sop for me sounds like a high pitched clarinet which is interesting to hear but always sounds a little unusual for me to cope with playing!
I thought the same about sop..but its such a distinctive sound..I quite like the sound of the tenors..but for me being that little to play one..they were huge..lol..I’m an alto too 😛
🙂
