Day 108..#Romans..
I love the book of Romans..like..I think it’s said that is has to be one of my favourite books of the Bible..like pretty up there.. π
I was reading..and came across a passage..
[15] But there is a great difference between Adam‘s sin and God‘s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. [16] And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. [17] For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. [18] Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a relationship with God and a new life for everyone. [19] Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
*Romans 5:15 – 19*
How awesome is that?!
Like, I’ve read that passage before..but today I felt like I read the passage!
It took one man to bring sin into the world – ONE man..it also took one man to take away that sin and show us grace!
He didn’t have to..but he did!
So now being no longer bound to our sinful selves we can have grace through the Lord Jesus Christ right? To me..grace is having God’s unmerited favour..and in having grace, this favour; doesn’t mean getting an easy ride..I think..to me..it means that God has given you the grace..the gift..of His love..to enable you to do all things..good works..in Him..and through faith..you receive grace..
I don’t even know if that makes sense..in my mind..it does!
Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for me..and because of that..I’m saved by grace!
One of my favorite songs that we sometimes sing on Sundays. ….mercy, mercy…new every morning….amazing AMAZING… Your grace, Your grace that saved me!! Praise God! =)
Thank you for passing through!
It’s one of my favourites too! π
truthfullly? this is pretty darn awesome! thanks
Thank you Terry! π
Romans is maybe my second favourite after James, but I liked your thoughts (you made me smile towards the end π ) I’ve spent 25 years being thankful for that undeserved grace you speak of though I have precious little to show as proof of that thankfulness – nevertheless, not a day goes by I don’t thank Him for the message of Romans π
I’m yet to read James..properly I mean..I am now looking foward to it..
Thank you for commenting and passing through my blog π
no problem. James is not a popular book amongst some Christian but I like it because I believe in putting my faith into action. Saying “go I wish you well” is not an option for me – though I am often guilty of falling into that trap.. π¦
awww..we all do sometimes..
I also believe in putting my faith into action!
The anticipation of James..oooh! π
π
Great post… And Israel H. To drive it home… Good job! I love idea God’s unmerited unending grace.
Thank you!
I love your blog too..I found it incredibly interesting π
Israel Houghton is hands down my favourite artist..to call him anointed for me would be an understatement! I have every one of his albums and he’s visited my church once π It’s the only thing I can play when I’m down..or sad..or angry..that just softens me..makes me laugh..forget what I was even mad about!
Thanks for passing through my blog! You are welcome back any time π
He’s at the top of my list as well I think I can say I have all his stuff as well… Cause the only song I didn’t have until two weeks ago was “Jesus at the center”
God bless you – if you keep writing I will keep reading. Have nice day!
That’s a beautiful song..so gentle π
Thank you! You also have a good day..and God bless you too! π
Beautiful post here this morning! Romans is one of my favorite books too. I really don’t have much to add because you cover the thoughts and short yet VERY important topic so well. Stay in that good positive cheer you have today! π
Thank you Scott! I’ve read it before several times..but this time it’s like I understood what I was reading..and wow..like *WOW*
I call that a “moment of clarity”
Such a beautiful thing…
It really is!
