In fact, this whole weekend has been..

This morning at church, we heard a word from visiting Pastor, Kevin Gerald; entitled “Favour Forever”.. It struck a chord with me..it was a very powerful message.

This evening, the song I’m sharing with you is called ‘God I Look To You’ and it’s by Jenn Johnson.

This song has been on my mind all day, and I wanted to share it.

I’ve added the lyrics below in case she is a little hard to understand.

Tomorrow starts a new week, new challenges and new journeys. This song is perfect for me as I’m coming to the end of this journey I’ve been on in my education; and lately, I’ve had the tendency to feel overwhelmed.

It’s a new week..and instead of new challenges.. I’m opting to accept the new triumphs that come my way..unlimited favour and an abundance of grace.

These past few months have got me thinking so much about a future I was so sure about a few years ago..but now that it’s drawing closer, I’m starting to question.

Deep down, I think I know what I want.. But it just doesn’t seem like it’s within my grasp.

I’m questioning.. almost second guessing myself. A lot.

I often think about if I’d decided on a different course of life.. Would I have had the same experiences.. Been presented with the same opportunities..Met the same people? But I realise that those “What If’s..” are wasted..because they didn’t happen.. and I know the more I think about was wasn’t as opposed to what is..it won’t change anything at all..

Don’t get me wrong..I’m so ready to start life and get on with it.. And I am happy with life now.. But it seems like the end of this chapter is hanging by a thread in the balance as opposed to be poised and standing to attention.

I haven’t written in a while, which I think is where I’ve been going wrong.

I haven’t blogged as much..written anything in my journal or thought of any new spoken word pieces..and I think that the pent-up frustration that usually comes out on paper has now built up to a point where something’s got to give..

I don’t know if I’m certain about anything any more..

And I guess that’s okay..

Right?

Right.

Maybe sometimes..we don’t tell them enough..and we should..

Have an amazing week

It has been the longest while hasn’t it!

I’m back from Nigeria, and have gone straight back into school to catch up on the work that I missed out on.. and I’ve got to hand it to myself..I’m doing pretty well despite the fact that I was told that my Final Year Project was a little (actually a lot!) on the incorrect side, so I’ve had to start again with that..but I guess that it’s okay..better to be told now than just before it’s due!

This evening (or afternoon – depending on what part of the world you reside in!), I’m bringing you another song from the band of the church I go to called ‘Sound of Praise.’

This morning in church, we talked about praise. About how when all else fails, when you are sad, down and out – just open your mouth and praise! When you’re happy – praise! When we let go of that negativity in our lives and open up our ears to hear the sounds of the army of the Lord – there is nothing more powerful than that and your valley will be filled!

Completely unlike me I know.

I’ve come to you all.. On my knees.. Apologising for neglecting you all!

Things have been hectic. I’ve been preparing for a trip I am about to take, I have been sick without knowing why, and now having found out I have an infection have begun my treatment of antibiotics for it.

There have been numerous occasions where I’ve wanted to blog.. I’ve never forgotten, but the energy just wasn’t there.

About two weeks (roughly) ago, it snowed so bad here where I study, that my University shut for the day. Classes did not happen! It was great! I watched an amazing video my University made in honour of “Snow Day” and pretty much stayed in bed all day

*I think the video is absolutely beautiful! Every time I watch it, I smile *

Once again, I’d really like to apologise for my lack of postings.. I’ve been swept off my feet already this year by University work, new classes, my part-time job, volunteering and planning my trip to Nigeria..which I’m not sure yet if I’m too excited about.

I leave for Nigeria in around 4 hours with all my medicines and one suitcase in tow.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to blog in Nigeria, but now that I feel like I’m getting better, I want to get back into the swing of things. There’s no more excuses! The nausea has subsided, however there is a dull pain at the infection site of the cyst I have and also minor abdominal cramps caused by what seems like a combination of different factors.

Oh well, life goes on!

This song is called Get Up.. and it’s sung by Mary Mary.

I love the rhythm of this song and the fact that whenever I listen to it, I’m bouncing along with them!

The song basically talks about getting up out of everything and being who you are supposed to be..no smoke..no curtains..no fear..no excuses.

I used to ask myself what I was waiting for in my dreams..my life..my education..I expected everything to just drop into place.. but it doesn’t work like that.

You have to work hard for you.. through that fear, that doubt and lack of self-belief and when you do..the results will be amazing!

Don’t make excuses.. What are you waiting for?

To say I’m feeling excited would be an understatement!

I’ve gotten through this season and I’m looking forward to starting something better next week!

Having done Project 365, I find it weird not blogging every day now.

What is that saying..? It takes 21-30 days to form a habit and the same amount of time (or so) to break it..? I don’t know!

We’ll just see how it goes I guess..how I’m feeling..

It seems like exams roll around so fast when you are at University.. If you have them.

I have three exams, well two left now, one of which is tomorrow and the final one on Monday 14th.

I’ve been living in the library for the past week..like literally living there.. It’s quite terrible! In fact this is the first day this week that I’ve been back home before midnight.

I wanted to get a good night sleep before  my exam and thought that maybe sleeping in my own bed for longer than 3 hours was long overdue!

If I was asked to describe how I was feeling for this..I’m not quite sure I do feel anything.. *he he*

I hope I have studied enough to get me through it..and that’s pretty much all I can ask for..

I’ve put in the work.. time to put it into action!

I kind of feel a little weird..Weird enough to want to just sleep and wake up and know certain things..

But you have to take life one day at a time. Any faster and we’d probably fall over ourselves trying to re-write our pasts in an effort to refocus our futures.. but you know it’s okay. Life happens, and as it does, we need to move with it, whether we feel like it’s going our way or it isn’t.

So take one day at a time..breathe and just live.
